Pharmacogenomics and Transport Micro-Credential

This micro-credential will be a three-course series encompassing several aspects of pharmacogenomics from transport to current events with cancer and nutrition. Each course consists of lectures and hands-on practice with clinical guidelines to lead the learner through personalized therapies. Finally, to obtain the micro-credential the learner will be asked to complete a cumulative pharmacogenomic question related to current issues related to pharmacogenomics.

Admissions Requirements


  • A knowledge of biology will be required for this course, as the micro-credential will start right at the gene and transporter level.
  • Those who have increased credentials in the sciences (chemistry, physics, etc) will be more prepared, but biology background will be necessary.

Course Requirements


Pharmacogenomics and Transport Core (6 credits)


  • PHC 516 Pharmacogenomics (course in development)

Additional Requirements


  • Student must answer the final pharmacogenomics comprehensive question with satisfactory remarks. The final question for badge achievement will encompass pieces of each course and will apply the applications of pharmacogenomics into a clinical practice problem. The badge will be based on three different parts.
    • 1. Completion of the “question/case study”
    • 2. The writeup for the physician
    • 3. Presentation to “physician team”.
