MGS 406LEC - Big Data Technologies


This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the big data technologies. The course exposes students to innovative big data products, key players, and the contemporary vendor landscape along with issues involved in transitioning to big data technologies. The course lays special emphasis on NoSQL database technologies such as Key-Value store database, Document oriented database, Graph database, columnar database along with relevant use cases and their relative advantages and disadvantages. Students will receive an in-depth overview of MongoDB, corresponding data models and capabilities.
