MGS 638LEC - Cybersecurity Analytics

Increasingly complex infrastructures challenge organizations with endless amounts of data - whether originating from an employee’s laptop, a server in a cloud environment, network infrastructure, or physical access control systems. Ingesting endless amounts of data equates to no business value unless you have a team that understands your environment well enough to provide information that can be relayed to management. Spanning from the core concepts of cybersecurity to advanced analytics, this course will aim to provide students the opportunity to understand the core functions of a high functioning security team while also being able to leverage tools that will provide metrics on the security program. Students will be challenged technically as a ‘Security Analyst’ while also being challenged to design effective program metrics as a ‘Chief Information Security Officer’. Credits: 3
