MGS 637LEC - Cloud Computing Security Concepts This class will introduce some common cloud computing concepts and give students hands-on experience with hosting technologies. This class will demystify what the “cloud” is by introducing students to terminologies that more accurately define and describe the technology buckets commonly described as “cloud”.
Students will learn about both the technical and business controls that go into managing public, private and hybrid cloud environments. Students will gain conversancy with some of the important managerial controls and concepts that help to manage the risk involved with leveraging third party cloud resources. Students will gain an appreciation for the variety of security controls and safeguards that go beyond the technical, expanding into the policy, workflow and human areas of technology management and risk mitigation. Credits: 3
