MUS 555LAB - Composer and Performer Lab

This lab course is designed for graduate students in the University at Buffalo Department of Music who are interested in exploring the dynamic relationship between composition and performance. Through a combination of theoretical discussions, practical exercises, and collaborative projects, students will deepen their understanding of the interplay between composers and performers in the creation and interpretation of music. The course will cover a range of topics, including score analysis, rehearsal techniques, collaborative composition, and the role of improvisation in contemporary music-making. Credits: 2
