CDS 529LEC - Aural Rehabilitation

This course will introduce students to the principles of aural (re)habilitation, including assessment and management of hearing loss in children and adults. The impacts of hearing loss on communication abilities will be discussed, as well as intervention strategies to reduce these communication difficulties. Students will learn about services for individuals with hearing loss and tinnitus, including hearing technology, communication strategies, counseling, and auditory training. Educational considerations and protected rights for individuals with hearing loss will also be examined.
