AAP 518SEM - Issues in Museum Mgmt

This course investigates managerial aspects of museums and contextualizes museum management within cultural, historical, ethical, legal, and technological discourses. The goal of this course is to familiarize students with some fundamental managerial strategies, mechanisms and approaches in museums and to give them a sense of the forces that produce and impact them. In this course, students acquire an understanding of the workings and dynamics of museum management and learn to assess and apply their knowledge effectively and creatively within individual cultural, political, legal, and socio-economic contexts.
