ARC 568TUT - Community Design Service

Service-learning, design-build course in which teams of faculty-led students work together on long-term projects that benefit the community. Projects are based on the architectural design needs of a community partner, with faculty-student team interaction an integral element for project success. Previous community partners have included Habitat for Humanity Buffalo, as well as other Buffalo-based organizations, on issues related to housing. Students complete hands-on work serving the Buffalo Niagara community while gaining a better understanding of the role that architecture and design can play in addressing societal and local needs. May be offered on an intermittent basis.
