ARC 545SEM - Technical Methods in Ecological Practices Offers students an intense exploration of the role that architects play in the design of the built and natural environments. Encourages multidisciplinary collaboration among allied professions and disciplines. Explores the following issues: connections among society, the economy, sustainability, and the environment; becoming familiar with various viewpoints of sustainable development; understanding how various types of analyses and visual communication techniques can be used to address environmental problems; techniques for measuring and visually representing the impact of environmental change; and other issues related to sustainable ecological practices. Topics vary annually. Includes lectures, discussions, site visits, and fieldwork. Credits: 3
