ARC 554LAB - Experimental Structures

Investigates materials not typically associated with structures to save costs on building design and construction. Considers the use of non-traditional resources including corrugated metals, industrial steel, reclaimed and alternative timber products, natural raw and recycled materials, prefabricated structural units, structural insulated panels, used shipping containers, plastics, fabrics, and raw concrete. Examines how alternative materials, systems, and finishes can impact durability, environmental sustainability, structural maintenance, and costs effectiveness.
