ARC 561SEM - Design Education

In this seminar students explore various ways in which architectural education can be incorporated into K-12 curricula to enhance learning in a range of subject areas, including math, science, social studies, and art. During the first weeks, students engage in readings, discussions, and planning sessions. Subsequently, each student partners with a local architect, K-12 teacher, and the seminar instructor to form a teaching team, which designs and implements a ten-lesson project with Buffalo Public School students. This seminar is part of the Buffalo Architecture Foundation¿s Architecture+Education project, which is supported by the American Institute of Architects Buffalo/Western New York Chapter.
