CDS 611LEC - Medical Audiology

In this course, disorders of the outer, middle, and inner ear and central auditory nervous system will be explored. Other comorbid health conditions, including cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, and renal dysfunction will be discussed. Information about the pathophysiology, etiology, and audiologic findings of these disorders, as well as the appropriate referral and management, will be reviewed. This course assumes a fundamental knowledge of audiological testing and diagnostics and a basic understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the auditory system.
