CDS 549LEC - Cultural and Linguistic Diversity in Communication Sciences and Disorders

This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of (a) the overall processes of typical speech and language acquisition in children from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds; (b) linguistic theories pertaining to bilingual and dialectal speech and language, (c) issues pertaining to assessment, intervention and service delivery for culturally and linguistically diverse populations, including children and adults.
