CHE 522LEC - Structure Determination in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry Structure Determination in Organic and Medicinal Chemistry is an advanced course focused on the techniques and strategies used to elucidate the structures of organic compounds, particularly in the context of medicinal chemistry. This course equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to employ various spectroscopic methods, including nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and infrared spectroscopy, to determine the structure and confirm the identity of organic molecules. Additionally, students will explore the use of X-ray crystallography and other advanced techniques in structure determination. Through a combination of lectures, case studies, and hands-on exercises, students will develop expertise in solving complex structural problems, enabling them to contribute to the field of organic and medicinal chemistry.
