EE 569LLB - Rf/Microwave Circuits 1 The first of a two-course sequence in the area of RF and microwave circuit design. Initial topics include transmission line equations, reflection coefficient, VSWR, return loss, and insertion loss. Examples include impedance matching networks using lumped elements, single-section and multi-section quarter wave transformers, single-stub and double-stub tuners, the design of directional couplers, and hybrids. There is a student design project for a planar transmission line circuit based upon the software package Advanced Design Systems (ADS). The design is fabricated and tested. Credits: 3
