Many of our Student Affairs Administration students begin their graduate career with assistantships internships and practical experiences that will provide opportunities to connect the content of the academic curriculum with the practical experience as a professional or para-professional staff member Learning what it means to be a professional to make professional decisions and to develop an understanding of the core competencies expected of rising student affairs are essential to efficient and efficacious practice The purpose of this course is to help students successfully transition into their professional roles as full time employees graduate assistants interns or practicum students so that they can maximize their experience while enrolled in the program and take their learnings into the world of work In combination with these practical experiences students learn to apply theory and concepts they are learning in the classroom to real life situations.
