This course provides a survey of the theory and practice of planning and evaluation in higher education and non-profit organizations. The course includes the development of critical issues, goals, strategies, outcomes research planning, and protocol development. Elements of this course include an examination of effective strategic planning models, an understanding of the different types of organizational planning and how to effectively lead change in an organization. Students will explore strategic planning through both individual and group exploration of best practices and research of other institutions. As part of the culminating experience, students will develop a strategic plan with specific goals, objectives, and a budget planning mode.
