GEO 560SEM - International Development This seminar will provide students with an advanced understanding of development theory and practice in the context of a changing geography of global inequality and intensified resource extraction. We will consider the roles of multilateral development institutions, states, and civil society organizations to navigate the tensions between economic, social and ecological development goals. Students will explore contemporary development practice in a range of case studies related to agrarian change, food system disruptions, and labor migration. Credits: 3
