GLY 527LLB - Statistics & Modeling of Geologic Data Computer modeling of complex processes is important in a number of geological areas, such as risk assessment, movement of toxic contaminants in an aquifer, and climate. Students develop knowledge of the processes whereby a geological problem is reduced to a mathematical model, the model is translated into a computer program, and the program is used to produce numerical and graphical results. The course assumes that students have a good familiarity with digital computers. Any mathematical complexities are explained as the course progresses. Credits: 4
