LAI 568LEC - Historical Development of Music Learning Theory A study of the current role and practice of music education considered in historical and philosophical perspective with special focus on the evolution of Music Learning Theory from adaptation of Gagne and other learning theories. The interaction of particular types of musical understanding and aspects of the nature of individual differences with learning theories will be emphasized. The interdependent relationship between the various Gordon measures and his learning theory will be examined through the dissertation research of his doctoral students at The University of Iowa, The University at Buffalo, and Temple University.
