By examining historical and sociocultural foundations of Early Childhood Education (ECE), the ultimate goal of this course is to understand the past, empower the present, and influence the future. Specifically, this seminar is designed to help you achieve these four goals: 1) to understand the influence of historical figures, ideas, and practices on today¿s ECE 2) to understand cross-cultural differences and trends in ECE programs 3) to understand the current policy debate in ECE 4) to understand ECE curriculum trends and changing sociocultural landscapes
