LAI 553LAB - Technology in Secondary Math Teaching

This course concentrates on technology appropriate for grades 6-12 mathematics instruction. It is designed to develop understanding of and competencies in mathematics teaching using technology. By the end of the course students should: 1. Be aware of and be able to utilize a significant portion of the numerous electronic resources available to mathematics teachers, including software packages, online resources and handheld technology. 2. Be able to evaluate online resources related to mathematics education. 3. Be able to create high quality educational materials and model lessons for grades 6-12 mathematics students that capitalize on the unique features offered by the various types of technology introduced in the course. 4. Relate national and state standards to the use of technology in the mathematics curriculum.”
