MDY 560LEC - Advanced Radiation Therapy Physics

This course provides advanced material for understanding and becoming familiar with modern external beam and brachy therapy radiation therapy treatments. It includes a discussion of advanced dosimetry, treatment techniques and protocols, treatment planning algorithms, accelerator and other shielding considerations, and quality assurance protocols including current AAPM task group reports. Knowledge of basic radiation therapy physics is required. This course should be taken by all graduate students in the medical physics specialization specializing in medical radiation therapy
