MGE 601LEC - Economics for Managers This purpose of this course is to provide business students with six core abilities in microeconomics: To understand basic supply and demand; To be able to calculate and use elasticity in economic decision making; To understand how regression methods are used in demand, production and cost analysis; To analyze how individuals make decisions involving purchases, work effort and undertaking risk; To be able to identify various market structures based on the degree of competition; And to understand the strategic decision making underlying the interactions between firms in different market structures.
