MUS 613SEM - Analyzing Popular Music

This seminar focuses on theoretical ideas associated with popular music by considering a wide range of issues ranging from harmony and form to tempoality, timbre, and issues of musical meaning. Students in this seminar create their own transcriptions, and the course will culminate in original analyses modeled on, and ideally expanding, the existing scholarship.
