NGC 632LEC - Interpreting Health Care Policy

This course prepares graduate students to explore health care policymaking and its impact on health care at the institutional, local, state, and national levels. A historical context of health care in the US is used as the framework for critiquing and interpreting the social, legal, political, and economic factors which influence nursing practice. The students will then critically analyze and evaluate policies for impact on patients and clinical practice and thus develop leadership strategies to promote changes in health care policy that in turn could shape health care financing, regulation, and delivery.
