NGC 602LEC - Data Science Applications in Healthcare The interdisciplinary course introduces students to data science and provides hands-on experience in using existing electronic health data. Interdisciplinary teams of students from the health professions will be paired with students from engineering, bioinformatics, geography, or management to develop research questions that can be answered using data science. Students must have a good understanding of the healthcare system, healthcare applications of informatics and graduate level statistics. Guest lecturers will be employed to show the diversity of disciplines using data science to improve health outcomes. This course is intended to prepare students to use data science in their dissertation or capstone research. Credits: 3

Requisites: Pre-Requisite: NGC 502 and NGC 527 and IE 585 and Biomedical CITI Training.
