ODS 830 - Princ Differential Diagnos

This course addresses medical decision-making with regards to how clinicians make logical decisions pertaining to diagnosis and treatment. Differential diagnosis involves consideration of how diagnostic tests perform and are interpreted. Deciding whether a treatment is helpful for a given patient includes appropriate use of patient-centered outcome measures. Published evidence serves as the base from which informed decisions should be made. In order to move the concepts from lecture to practice, students work in small groups and submit two projects upon which the course grade is based. A final exam is optional, at discretion of the instructor.
