MAE 474LEC - Aerospace Engineering Design Project

Aerospace Engineering Design Project (MAE 474) is the culminating design experience for the aerospace engineering undergraduate degree. Designed as the sequel course to Aircraft Design (MAE 434), MAE 474 guides teams of students through a structured design process with the ultimate goal of manufacturing a physical prototype relevant to each team’s aerospace design project. Students produce a bill of materials, use project and team management tools to promote effective planning of the prototyping process, gain hands-on experience in a variety of manufacturing processes relevant to their project, and use various experimental, numerical, and analytical techniques to evaluate the quality of their prototype throughout an iterative design process. Students communicate and receive feedback on their progress through regular written reports and oral presentations.
