MUS 420STU - Woodwind Methods


This course is designed for students in the MusB Performance program that plan to pursue the combined degree program in Music Education with the Graduate School of Education. It provides an in-depth exploration of woodwind instruments, including flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, and bassoon. Emphasis is placed on developing fundamental techniques, pedagogical strategies, and practical skills necessary for teaching and performing on each instrument. Through demonstrations and hands-on activities, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of woodwind instruments, their unique characteristics and pedagogical challenges, as well as strategies for teaching the instruments to beginning musicians.
