MUS 424STU - Vocal/Choral Methods


This course is designed for students in the MusB Performance program who intend to pursue the combined degree program in Music Education with the Graduate School of Education. It provides an in-depth exploration of vocal and choral techniques, repertoire, and pedagogical strategies. Emphasis is placed on developing fundamental vocal skills, conducting techniques, and practical skills necessary for teaching and directing vocal and choral ensembles. Through demonstrations, rehearsals, and hands-on activities, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of vocal and choral music, its unique characteristics, pedagogical challenges, and effective strategies for teaching and directing singers.
