AAP 530SEM - Advocacy for Cultural Institutions

This course is designed to introduce the subject of advocacy to students who have an interest in arts and cultural institutions and the alliance, membership organizations, and various other councils and organizations that serve the arts and cultural community. Advocacy demands an understanding of government, policy making, tax code, and the people who create and manipulate those systems. Without such an understanding, the advocate may be unable to successfully negotiate the political landscape to effectively communicate the needs of his or her cause or organization. Credits: 3
