AAP 510SEM - Issues in Music Mgmt

This seminar course provides the tools of applied theory and practice of Arts Management for musicians, music managers and music educators. It investigates the management, leadership and education practices of musical institutions and career paths. The areas covered will include: the social context of music management (historical and contemporary relationship to audience), legalities of music management (copyright, contract, union agreements), financial requirements (budgeting, funding, cash flow, monitoring), audiences and communities (educational outreach, community resources), marketing (dissemination of information), and organizational structures (personnel, venues).
