LAW 550TUT - Practical Training Study and Reflection for International Student


This course is for students on F-1 visas who have been offered a summer practical training opportunity that will be overseen by one or more licensed attorneys. To take this course you should 1) have a summer practical training opportunity arranged; 2) apply for and receive CPT authorization before beginning your summer practical training position; and provide documentation of your position to Professors Lewis and Rowan and the Registrar’s office. Your position must run for at least 4 weeks full-time or the equivalent. This course will entail completing a paper under the supervision of either Professor Lewis or Professor Rowan. The paper topic must be approved by the supervisor and must relate to the legal issues and related training encountered in the summer position. The paper must be original work that has not been submitted as part of the summer placement and should be approximately 2500-3000 words. The paper must be submitted by September 23rd and will be graded on an S/U basis, with a grade of S meaning “Satisfactory” and conferring one credit, and a grade of U meaning “Unsatisfactory” and conferring no credit.
