LAW 702LEC - Domestic Violence Law Over the past forty (40) years there have been significant changes in law, public policy, and shifts in culture regarding domestic violence. This course focuses on legal issues (in theory and practice) with the understanding that they cannot be separated from policy considerations and outcomes or from cultural norms. Guest speakers will supplement course materials to take you from the classroom to the courtroom and to connect theory to practice. Students will be encouraged to observe family and criminal domestic violence courts. There will be three (3) periodic graded written assignments and class participation will be 20% of your final grade.
