LAW 726LEC - Representing Medical Professionals and Health Care Facilities

This course will cover a range of topics that arise when representing physicians, nurses, other medical providers, and health care facilities. Topics will include medical malpractice, regulation of health professions, regulation of health care facilities, the physician-patient relationship, informed consent, privacy and confidentiality, and medical ethics. The course will review principles that govern the interaction of patients and health care providers. Text will include a traditional casebook, articles, and materials documenting current issues in health care law and policy.
