LAW 811LEC - Follow the Money & Molecules: Policy and Practice of Federal Environmental and Administrative Law

Environmental law, a growing area of practice, is as needed and urgent as ever. Environmental issues are also increasingly affecting other major areas of law, real estate, banking and finance, corporate, energy, international, even civil rights and more. All lawyers should be well versed in administrative law and in basic environmental issues and risks. Discussing environmental law is also a lively discourse on making and responding to change in all kinds of law. This course explores major environmental law topics, from the local and historic hazardous waste pollution in Niagara Falls, to the global and emerging climate change and environmental justice; looking into the role of statutes, regulations, litigation, and especially the lawyer?s role in solving problems and promoting solutions.
