ELI 411LEC - Spoken English

Speaking skills for the university context. Topics include preparation and delivery of individual and group presentations, understanding and practice of American idiomatic speech, and improvement of pronunciation. Reviews of students’ videotaped presentations provide feedback. ELI 411 is equivalent to ESL 411.

Open only to students for whom English is not a first or dominant language. Placement determined by English proficiency test scores outlined in the Undergraduate Catalog. Students with a SAT ERWS score of 560 or higher do not take this course.
