Microbiology and Immunology Overview
The department has a rich curriculum that includes two levels of Medical Microbiology and Immunology. The coursework is designed explicitly for students planning for careers in healthcare professions. We have developed separate coursework geared toward those going into scientific research. Each of these pathways includes recitations and laboratories explicitly geared to the student’s career development. We also offer independent study in research, which can be arranged individually with our faculty members. The department hosts seminar courses focused on a big idea or challenging issue. These are designed to engage students with questions of high significance in microbiology and immunology. We are actively increasing remote learning components in our existing courses. We are also developing small courses where students can study with people from around the country and the world.
