Admission Criteria


  • School of Management undergraduate students of all levels, and graduate students in the MBA, PMBA, MS in Finance, MS in Accounting, MS in Management Information Systems, and MS in Business Analytics programs are eligible for this program.
  • Minimum overall GPA 2.500

Current UB students seeking admission to the Business Practice in the U.S. micro-credential should submit the Global Programs application form.

Course Requirements


Business Practices in the US Core (1 credit)


Total Credits Required for Micro-Credential: 1


Additional Requirements


  • Travel/virtual component ranging in duration from two to seven days (site visits, alumni networking event, mini-case study).
  • Complete mini-case project and present it to alumni and professionals.
  • Showcase achievements via LinkedIn profile with three-to-five-minute documentary of your experience.
  • Present your experience to the Global Advisory Council.
  • Complete a two-to-four page report that includes your comprehensive reflection reports throughout the experience.

Academic Requirements


  • School of Management undergraduate students of all levels, and graduate students in the MBA, PMBA, MS in Finance, MS in Accounting, MS in Management Information Systems, and MS in Business Analytics programs
  • To be considered, you must submit a completed application, updated résumé, personal statement and unofficial transcripts
  • Overall GPA of 2.5 is required at the time of application. If your GPA currently falls below a 2.5, address this in your personal statement by indicating your plan to increase it prior to participating in the program

After completing the micro-credential in Business Practices in the US, students will be able to:

  • Identify distinct personal and organizational features that propels you as a manager /leader to achieve your own goals and aspirations
