Course Requirements


Human Factors and Ergonomics Engineering Core (14 credits)


One Elective (3-4 credits)


Other upper division courses related to human factors/ergonomics may be accepted, subject to the approval of the minor advisor.

Academic Requirements


  • 2.000 minimum GPA in minor courses.
  • At least three courses applied for the minor cannot be used to fulfill any other program requirements (UB Curriculum, major, or other minor). 

Learning Outcomes


  • Understand and describe current theories, methods, and design principles related to human factors and ergonomics.
  • Identify, formulate, and solve problems in the areas of human factors and ergonomics.
  • Apply appropriate theories and methods to analyze and design human-technology systems which are safe and effective for people to use and operate.
  • Communicate effectively about human factors and ergonomics engineering problem solutions, and system designs.
