Learning Outcomes


Upon successful completion of all requirements, the student will have knowledge to:

  • Explain the physics, radiation biology, radiation safety & regulations, instrumentation, drugs, quality control procedures, clinical studies (diagnostic and therapeutic), and patient care and management related to the field of nuclear medicine
  • Perform all routine diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures and quality control procedures in a timely fashion with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate patient care and management skills
  • Discuss and demonstrate good oral communication skills, professional behavior, interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning skills through a variety of activities such as journal article review, image artifact evaluation, class projects, case study analysis, problem analysis, etc.
