Academic Requirements
To maintain good academic standing and determine eligibility for continuation in the major, the School of Management reviews the academic records of all students in an approved management major at the end of each fall and spring semester. If a course is repeated, the School of Management will only look at the grade earned the second time, even if the grade is lower than the grade earned the first time. Students may not enroll in any major course for a third attempt without permission of the department.
Students must apply to the MBA program in their third year of study, and admission is competitive. If admitted to the MBA program, all undergraduate requirements and 90 undergraduate credit hours must be completed at the end of junior year (with the exception of MGB 301 , MGO 403 , and the concentration which is completed at the MBA level).
Students complete MGB 610 and MGO 640 as part of the MBA core rather than the corresponding undergraduate level courses (MGB 301 and MGO 403 ). Students who apply and are admitted to the BS/MBA business administration program will need to take any required undergraduate courses (UB curriculum or major requirements) in the summer prior to starting MBA program. Transfer Credit Policy Courses at the upper division (300 and 400 level) must be taken from other four-year AACSB Accredited Institutions in order to be considered for equivalency. Students must complete at least 24 hours at the 300 or 400 level in the major. Program Honors
Third-years with exemplary first and second-year records and high promise for leadership and independent study, may be eligible for the School of Management honors program. Students must have an overall GPA of at least 3.500 to be eligible to apply. Admitted students complete 9 additional credit hours of coursework over three semesters, including MGB 359 , 6 “Flex Credits”, MGB 360 , MGB 361 , and must take the designated honors section of MGO 403 . Students must also meet the remaining criteria outlined in the Academic Honors policy. Students who successfully complete the honors program and meet the criteria will have the appropriate notation on their official transcript. Curricular Plan
