Admission Criteria

Current UB students seeking admission to the Latina/Latino Studies minor should complete the College of Arts and Sciences Major/Minor Change Request Form.

Course Requirements

Latina/Latino Studies Core (3 credits)

One 100/200 level course (3 credits)

Four 300/400 level courses (12 credits)

*Courses with appropriate content may be substituted with permission of the director of undergraduate studies.

Total Credits Required for Minor: 18

Total Credit Hours Required represents the minimum credits needed to complete this program, and may vary based on a number of circumstances. This chart should not be used for financial aid purposes.

Academic Requirements

  • No more than two courses, used to satisfy the requirements of another major/minor, can be used to also satisfy the requirements of a minor in Latina/Latino studies.

Learning Outcomes

Students minoring in the Latina/Latino Studies program are introduced to a variety of disciplines such as anthropology, Spanish, history, English, humanities, political science, philosophy, women’s studies, and theater.
