1) Students will be able to display knowledge of policies to address affordable housing in the U.S.
2) Students will be able to identify how affordable housing is conceived as a good and a service, how various stakeholder groups are affected by housing policies, and how affordable housing can be viewed as a means toward social justice and increased equality
3) Students will be able to articulate how adequate, affordable housing is fundamental to thriving urban areas, with far-reaching consequences for people s health, quality of life, and access to opportunities
4) Students will be able to display knowledge of affordable housing in practice
Assessment Method: Assessed in all students in Final project grade in END 520/URP 520
5) Students will be able to display knowledge of how to structure a low-income housing tax credit deal
6) Students will be able to display knowledge of affordable housing development process, including institutional players, site selection, pre-development management, regulatory guidelines, underwriting and financing.
7) Students will be able to show the ability to participate on an interdisciplinary team in designing an Affordable Housing Project.
