Early Childhood Education With Bilingual Extension (Birth to Grade 2) EdM

Early childhood and childhood education EdM programs are available for those who wish to pursue a bilingual specialization/extension. The programs are suitable for students who wish to obtain New York State certification to teach bilingual students birth through grade six, those who already have initial teacher certification before entering the program, and those who aspire to complete both a master’s degree in bilingual education and childhood education or early childhood certification requirements.

I. Initial/Professional Curriculum

II. Professional Curriculum


Culminating Experience: Exam or Project (0-1 credit)


Additional Requirements


Required for Conferral of Degree:

  • Proof of completion of Dignity for All Students Act (DASA) workshop
  • Proof of completion of NYSED Students with Disabilities Requirement
  • Proof of valid NYS Initial Teacher Certificate
