Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
1) Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the social issues that impact education (formal and informal), particularly among underserved populations (related to gender, sexual orientation, national origin, race/ethnicity, second language, disability and socioeconomic status), on an national and international level.
2) Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to understand issues and debates around research methodology (qualitative and quantitative).
3) Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to collaborate with scholars who use a different research methodology (qualitative and quantitative) in education
4) Conduct a rigorous, independent empirical study that employs the techniques of qualitative and /or quantitative methodology to answer a question embedded in contemporary research literature.
5) Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to be prepared for leadership positions as scholars and policy analysts in education research
