Engineering Science MS: Engineering Sustainability Focus

Sustainable engineering is the process of designing or operating systems to use energy and natural resources cost-effectively in a way that does not compromise the natural environment, social equity or the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

The Engineering Sciences MS with a course focus in Engineering Sustainability is a multidisciplinary program that trains students in sustainability fundamentals, renewable energy, economics, environmental quality and engineering practice, ethics, and manufacturing. 

Required Core (9 credits)


Electives & Culminating Experience (21 credits)


Electives (15-21 credits)


Number of elective credits may vary depending on choice made to complete the culminating experience. Be sure to complete enough elective credit to reach 30 minimum total credit hours. 

Culminating Experience: Exam, Portfolio, Project or Thesis (0-6 credits)


Students may take CIE 501  as elective and culminating experience.

Total Credit Hours: 30
