International Educational Data Analysis Advanced Certificate

This certificate is designed to provide students with advanced preparation in data collection and analysis as related to key educational issues nationally and cross-nationally. This certificate is also designed to respond to the growing demand for national and international training in mixed methods research.

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)


1) Students demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to understand the issues and debates around qualitative, quantitative, and mixed research methodology.

2) Students demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to understand the strengths and weaknesses of these major methodologies and their applicability with regard to particular research questions.

3) Students demonstrate knowledge and skills so that they can conceptualize and actualize qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods research in a broad range of research projects relevant to varying disciplines and field of study.

4) Students demonstrate knowledge of the educational issues facing a wide range of nations, and will be able to comprehend and engage in cross-national educational research.

5) Students demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to collaborate with scholars in education both nationally and cross-nationally.

6) Students demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to report the results of qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods research through strong oral and written communication.

7) Students demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to apply qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods in professional practice in educational fields.
