Medical Anatomy and Experimental Pathology MS

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Degree Level

The MS Program in Medical Anatomy and Experimental Pathology provides training in human gross and microscopic anatomy and in the biology of disease and injury. The program is aimed at preparing students for careers in the medical professions, medical/premedical education or biomedical research. Research opportunities with our faculty range from studies of cellular and molecular mechanisms of disease and tissue repair to the development of tools for visualizing biological structure and investigation of instructional careers or engagement in associated industry.  A more research-focused training is offered in our Computational Cell Biology, Anatomy and Pathology MS program.

Electives & Culminating Experience (13 credits)

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)

1) Students will acquire knowledge necessary to interpret and evaluate information about the role of biological structure and function in human injury and disease.

2) Students will be able to communicate knowledge of biological structure and mechanism in disease.

3) Students will be able to create knowledge of biological structure and the role of that structure in disease.

4) Students will demonstrate professional qualities necessary to receive other professional training after graduation (e.g., the medical degree) or to obtain employment in professional academic programs, research laboratories, or biomedical-related industry.
